It's New! It's Live from Cest What (July 31 2002). It's a song about the excitement of a new relationship. |

Story Behind the Song
what can I say? It's an Alannis-like rocker about the changing stages of a relationship. Written quickly in the wee hours of a March morning... after a pack of high calibre talents had left the jam session and I was packed with adreneline ... reflecting on romances gone by. Look for smoothed out version soon.
Lyrics
V1/
Takin’ the time to know one another
Takin’ the time, sweet time ah ah ah
Probin’ the depths, under the covers
Probin’ the depths – we fit fine ah ah ah
Chorus 1
Have I told you yet about my sisters and brothers
Well doodleedoo so blue’s your favourite colour
Someday soon you’ll meet my mother
Takin the time, sweet early time when you see
Only the best of me
Only the best of me
V2/
You say I’m divine, email me a poem
You call me divine and I feel fine – ah ah
We’re drinkin’ wine – this relationship’s flowin’
Drinkin’ wine in our private shrine, ah ah ah
Chorus 2
Our hearts are ragin like the Indian Ocean
We’re in the groove and at the peak of emotion
But a couple of cracks in my perfect glass start showing
Never mind, cause most of the time you still see…
Only the best of me
Only the best of me
Bridge
Honeymoon of our love
And I wanna hold on
But these rose-hued days are just a beautiful phase I know
We’re gonna move on! Yah yah
Verse 3
Takin the time to know one another
Takin the time, time ah ah ah
Sweet elation when you find a new lover
Take your time, time….
Chorus
I wish these feelings could last forever
But I know soon we’ll be different together
This red hot flame will turn to comfortable ember
And I’ll miss those times sweet times when you’d see Only the best of me
