    Story Behind the Song
This song was written in Paul and Mark's old band Contrite and the song was deemed worthy enough to stay with A Stained Glass Romance. The song title is a derived from "Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves" when Duncan gets his eyes taken out with a spoon, only the song mentions a heart.

    Lyrics
    Kind words mean nothing,
When you're spoon fed your heart.
Memories burn your throat. Yesterday hates tomorrow.

As I watch your tongue rip my heart out
As I sit here with my heart in your hands blood spills
    But I'm still smiling.
There's nowhere to run for you now darling.
They'll know you by the trail of dead bodies.

You promised to keep my heart safe from your kiss so that the devastation would be easy.

All I wanted was for you to love me not hold my head under the water.
    I can't breathe.

    I know your faces.
    I know one thousand names.
I guess my heart was not made to play.

You came by for one last chance to make a harlot out of Christ as angels cry and we drive the nails in His cross.

You promised to keep my heart safe from your kiss so that the devastation would be easy.
    My blood runs cold.

    Oh my God
Who would have thought that it would hurt so bad?

    The plan was simple.
My heart was yours to take.
    Sh'mon tell
    Was it good for you?
