Story Behind the Song
Have performed this song with various alternative lyrics in radio appearances and at self-awareness seminars, a nursing home, and more conventional gigs. Written unusually quickly in 1991 following a walk by the sea and along the Palace Pier in Brighton. Gradually recorded and mixed in Windsor over the next few years, finally appearing as the title track for 1997 c.d. This full band version has a bit of a Pretenders vibe about it.
