Classic Max Bent - Riff Oriented, Story based lyrics with a big melodic chorus.
    CD: Max Bent
    Credits: Kent MacMillan

    Story Behind the Song
A personal favorite of Max Bent's. Lyrical content makes reference to a bar in Fort Frances, Ontario called the Rainy Lake Hotel. Kent has stories upon stories of strange things that happened there during his touring days with First and Last as well as the notorius HOGTOWN. Lyrical meaning is fairly straight forward with a happy twist on suicide.

    Lyrics
    Everything Will Be Beautiful

F#m/E/B7/F#m7 - The queen of miscommunication
F#m/E - Walks through the lobby
B7/F#m7 -Of the Rainy Lake Hotel

    Black eyeliner and wedding dress
    She looks just like a
    Prisoner released from a cell

D/A - Tonight she went too far
Step up to the hotel bar
    Smells like cheap cigar
E - Everyone knows who you are

    Princess of tragedy
    Only a third removed
From the lonely family of the queen

Stare up from a hotel room
    Only the light bulb moves
    Shadows of misery and doom

    Tonight she don’t lie alone
The queen is off the throne
    The princess’s name is Joan
    Exploring the great unknown

    Chorus
A/E/D/E - Everything will be beautiful
    The sun will always shine
The world will smell like a rose
Dreams will taste like a vintage wine

    The morning’s an awful mess
    Discarded wedding dress
Pull the pistol from the drawer

    The queen touches tragedy
    And tells her everything
It’s up to us to stop this war

    They’ll call it suicide
    There’s nowhere’s left to hide
    Be strong by my side
Time to let the bullets fly

    Chorus

    Tonight she don't lie alone
    The queen's off the throne
    Listen if your all alone
You can hear that hotel moan

    Chorus
