Story Behind the Song
I wrote this song about a life experience. The lyrics describe what steppin' is really about and what the moves mean. I wrote the song at a club in about two hours. The recording took several days.

Lead vocal / Verse I:
Steppin’, / you gotta make the moves.
Walk the walk / nice and smooth.
Shake it up fast, / shimmer down low.
When you’ve done it right, / you should know!
Lead vocal / Verse II:
I was hanging in a club; / no one with me.
When I saw this honey / checking to see
why I was there / and what was goin’ on.
Then she motioned to me, to bring it one step on.
Multi-voices:
Do, do, too, too, da, too, too.
Lead sax & voices:
Steppin’/ steppin’.
Lead vocal / Verse III:
I_m steppin’, / makin’ made my moves,
Walkin’ the walk / nice and smooth.
Shakin’ up fast_ / shimmerin’ down low.
I did it right, / I hope so.
Lead vocal / Verse IV:
She came on stepping /
What a site to see.
Now we're tight / and she has the key.
The jukebox is playing /
and everyone is gone.
We_re taking it slow / steppin’ on .
Multi-voices:
Do, do, too, too, da, too too.
Lead sax & voices:
Steppin’/ steppin’.
Lead vocal / Verse V:
We_re steppin’. / We_ve made our moves.
Walked the walk / nice and smooth.
Shook it up fast, / shimmered down low.
We did it right. / Don’t you know?
Multi-voices:
Do, do , too, too, da, too too.
Ending multi_voices:
Steppin’, / Steppin’.
