This song, 16 ounces, was written about an alcoholic who has let drinking carry him into a world of abandonment and solitude. We wrote this song in New Castle, PA. The song should give off a sad or lonely feeling, but also a feeling of hope and desperation. "16 Ounces" will also be found on our debut album, Monacatootha in the summer of 2003. |

Lyrics
Dirty glasses for his case.
Twisted grin upon his face.
Cracks one open, pours it in.
9 AM his day begins.
Left his family, lost his home.
Told he must walk this road alone.
Shot of whiskey, glass of gin.
Bottles poured with personal sin.
16 ounces in my hand.
16 ounces once again.
(2X)
Hot pulse pounding from his eyes.
Erase the memories, swallow lies.
Trembling hand and pale white face.
Oh lord how can I leave this place!
16 ounces in my hand.
16 ounces once again.
(2X)
I don't know where I may go,
But all I know is I can't go again...
(I don't know)
