Its about confiding in your own feeling and then covering up your agony so that no one sees that you are being torn shreds on the inside. It’s a song about being trapped by your sin, not knowing what you will do next. Proverbs 5:22 talks about being ensnared by your sin. Afraid is derived from this verse.
