A clav-based groove layered with interesting bass hooks, guitar, percussion loops, and rich female vocals. Lush strings and solo piano make a nice departure in the bridge before dropping back into the groove. |

Story Behind the Song
This song was written several years ago when my personal life was in major turmoil. The basic premise is temptation but the lyrics and rhythm take you, I think, from the "I'm going to make good decisions phase" to the heart-pounding, running, "I don't know what to do, but I really want to do the right thing phase".
This song was one of the first four that we recorded and it took hours and hours and hours to finally complete. However, the first vocal take was used at first and released as a single. It has since been tweaked and the vocals completely redone.
Lyrics
Out From Within
Let the notion linger,
like a child without a care
and we'll run and run and run away as the days melt away in the air.
and it looks to be more than typical
by the way the shadows fall
but in the light, the light the light of day
feelings fade
tempted now, rediscover
tempt me relentless now
and i try to cover
sorry for the slight diversion
my mind ran away with me again
i hope you haven't lost your faith in me
tempted now, rediscover
tempt me relentless now and i try to cover
oh, deny me, deny me this
remembering the sweetness
dripping from your lips
raining on my head running down my fingertips
covering the anger
hiding the blood
is this love, love, love?
