Story Behind the Song
What does the song mean to me?
It is a small token of thanks for my parents for all that they have given to me over the years.
What do the lyrics mean?
Take a listen. Take a journey back in time with me.
Where was the song written?
I wrote this song in 1995 in central Ohio after returning from Arizona but before performing down south throughout Florida.
How long did it take to write it?
This song took me about 20 minutes to write.
How long to record?
I recorded it in about 6 hours.
How many takes?
Well, I did all instruments on this album and i'm stronger in some instruments than others. Do I really have to say which one's i'm weak at? (he he he) Actually my most takes were on the drum tracks I played. I had some work to write in and to play the drums at a certain off beat and time as I wrote them. So, the drums took me about 25% of the recording time to get them right.

VERSE ONE:
It was right from the start,
Magic played a part,
In these old walls called memories,
We laughed and we played,
You made the scary man go away,
I’d wake and see you smilin’ by my side,
CHORUS:
I thank my lucky stars for those times,
You call me yours and I call you mine,
I tip my hat to the days gone past,
It was right from the start, right from the start, it’ll last
VERSE TWO:
Christmas it was true,
The memories of you,
And the dog was a gift and he was mine,
Long live Mickey Mouse, Big Bird and the Grouch,
For we were all friends at one time,
CHORUS
BREAK
LEAD & FURTHER BREAK
CHORUS
END:
It was right from the start,
Magic played a part,
In these old walls called memories…..
