	Story Behind the Song We were arrested in Seattle during 2001 and detained for three weeks on false allegations. After being together 24/7 for four years, it was the first time we had ever been separated from each other. However, through our Buddhist practice, this first hand experience with the so-called "justice system" actually became a springboard for our spiritual growth. Lyrics When I last saw my lady She was whispering, "goodbye" When I last saw my love There were teardrops in her eyes We'd never been apart before Some damn criminal lies As the man led me away She beagn to cry A dark day dawned upon my life As Uncle Sam stole my wife Wrongfully accused We faced the jailhouse blues (chorus) How we fought for our dignity As we prayed with all our might We had faith in final victory Never give up (go down) without a fight.
