Letting Go of Me maintains a bouncy, dreamy and very accessible poppy facade that belies the solemn philosophy entwined in its lyrical content. The music is a dream and the distant vocals speak of the precarious balance of my reality.
Credits: All lyrics and instruments by Kevin Saturna except acoustic guitar and additional engineering by Christopher Law.

    Story Behind the Song
Letting Go of Me began as a letter to a friend. From private letter to full-fledged song the words went through almost no change. Something in my writing stuck in my mind and within a day I had begun to set music to it.

I first recorded a live acoustic version which I liked very much as it was. After demo-ing it to a few people I realized it wasn't as accessible to the general public as I thought it should be, and thus began the creation of a studio single. The majority of work was completed within a week. All through the day and night in a manic state I worked to finish it. Eventually I was happy with what I'd done and shelved it.

Eight months or so passed and Christopher Law came across the recording and was inspired to add guitar and do some additional engineering.

A few months after that Letting Go of Me has become accessible to the world.

    Lyrics
A letter sometimes says so much
Unspoken could never be as such

Lands of summer's golden rush seem so near
but forbidden is my eager touch

Once I said a miracle was love, untold its power
    Yet I have soured

Flights of fancy do persist as illusion calling
    "Face your destiny"
A fool and his thoughts are never parted, even at the very end

    The hour's drawing near
I can feel the icy shard clawing close now to my heart

A leaf drifts listless from the tree
Life is letting go of me
I give my last bow to the show
    In sychronicity

My habits haven't been my sin
    The self-destruction was programmed in

A code in every layer that's created an endless mental barrier
Another bird with broken wings fallen from its nest
    It tried its best

    Seems the point is missed
(if it did indeed exist in any sense)
Consider it is done when the sun has come and gone and you're cold again
Evade it not in transient thought the conclusion has to be
    The end of Me

A leaf drifts listless from the tree
Life is Letting Go of me
I give my last bow to the show
    In sychronicity
