Story Behind the Song
The band got together once a week to create the magic - spontaneously generated lyrics.
The lyrics to this spontaneously composed song is about that very process. Composed in Feb'92, first take. The idea of Dr Rhythm
came from the fact that for the drum parts Russ would peck on a Boss Dr Rhythm drum machine while we recorded - that was our drums. Dr B would be me, Bob, the guitarist.
Lyrics
Dr Rhythm with his Saturday night illusions
Comes walking into your mind, is he real?
Watch the TV and you'll want to know the answers
Because a walk along the lonely street awaits
You won't know if you can tell the reason why
There's something out there calling you, just take my hand
You can't tell me its not out there
I can show you, I feel it in my own world
Ha, Ha Ha!
In the end you'll always want to see
Its somewhere on that lonely street with Dr. B and me
Saturday night illusions washing you away
There's another sun coming in our world and another brand new day
Don't you tell me answers, don't you ask me questions
Sit and watch the rising sun
Don't ask me what to do now
Don't show me who do you use
Don't want to hear your answers
Didn't ask you for your free advise
Don't ask me don't tell me
Don't show me I don't care
You won't see all of my
Intuitions as I fly by
As I fly by
Don't you tell me its just a-nother figment of my
Active imagination, no, there's no way
I watched the Sun going down and I know it will be back tomorrow
I watched the Moon come up will it ever be the same?
Dr Rhythm with his Saturday night illusions
He goes walking thru your mind, can you feel him?
You know he's out there somewhere
