This was the first orginal piece of music I recorded at my school in our music theory/composition class. I later had it accompany a slide-show of varrious intereseting images including the artwork of Michaelangelo and Salvador Dali. The song was recorded into the MIDI sequencer Sibelius using a film score template and the sounds of and Edirol sound card. The main instrument is a clarinet which follows a unique ostinato pattern, and mixed with other woodwinds that rythymically mimic the ostinato, but in harmony. Another ostinato is the usage of the "Bladerunner" stlye timpani percussion. |

Story Behind the Song
This piece began as a guitar riff I wrote (used in another recording) and then applied to a symphonic arrangement where instead of a guitar, a clarinet played the part. The meaning of this one is a bit vague, but it has something to do with respecting nature, which has been around for billions of more years than - man has and managed to hold its own. If the trees of the Earth ever battled humankind for their planet back (in a J.R.R. Tolkien sort of way), then it might [musically] sound like this piece does. That's the best I can do to describe it.
