Story Behind the Song
Unaccounted to on several hits, found me homeless and yet being offered studio time by master producer Bob Gaudio. I then asked Allan Holdsworth and co., if they would donate their time to recording the song. Allan spent 13 hours behind two stacked racks of outboard gear (you couldn't even see him!) In 1989 I sent it over to NASA, who liked the song (hear their message on the intro!) Then my sons in LA needed me, so I left Orlando.
I am donating the proceeds of MP3 CDs to the Astronauts Foundation, for their tragedy I believe is ours. As artists we are the explorers of Inner Space, and our journey is similarly fraught with dangers.
Lyrics
Looking out from the Space Station
Venus closest to me
Stars in swirling motions in an endless sea
Tomorrow always come early
In Space where time bends
on a spiral journey where forever never ends
Living in the sky, far from the ground
Where up is down, Living in the Sky
Living in the sky, to find out why
Searching for life, Living in the Sky
There's a man drifting passed the window, like a dream you haven't woke up from, a baby's born on level one
It's future just begun
Living in the Sky, far from the ground.......
Like a bird I learned to fly, In Space in wonder
Eyes like Suns in the Universe
Swims the divers for pearls
Living in the Sky..............
