| Story Behind the Song
My original intent for composing this song was to praise past heroes of Texas history, and issue forth a call for all of us to take responsibilty for fighting against the oppression and injustice which exist today. The hard power games being played out behind the scenes for wealth and political power are creating crisis for both mankind and our earth. But together, united in mind and spirit, we possess the greatest power of all - the will of the people! So let us awaken from our long sleep of illusion, both individually and collectively, and emerge as the leaders of a new age of human dignity. Using the soft powers of dialouge, empathy, and respect, we can recognize the simular goodness that is inherent in ourselves and all people.
 LyricsHeroes of the Earth

 Verse 1
At Valley Forge we froze for what the people chose
We stood against oppression in the French Revolution
Rebelled in Mexico then at the Alamo
We’ve flown our flags aloft for freedom south & north

The long and glorious line, traditions of our kind
Appear through history to fight courageously
Protecting the oppressed, never waiver pause or rest
Injustice shall give birth to heroes of the earth

 Chorus
Stand up and be one of the heroes of the earth
Defending precious life for all that it is worth
With courage and resolve, come forth our worlds brave knights
And against the dragon’s might 1) the foes of earth we fight
 2) ego and greed we fight
 3) to keep our hard earned rights – true heroes of the earth

 Verse 2
In these modern times our foes are hard to find
They hide themselves so well behind a golden veil
And never once lament for our environment
They twist our laws around, hard power with no bounds

The time has come to stop corruption at the top
Greed in our industries, lies of economy
The “secret circle” rule steals freedoms from the fools
While the wise man sees that heroes shall be free

 Repeat Chorus
 Verse 3
Mother Earth is in pain, “Gaia” is her name
Crying to me and you, “please come to my rescue”
Our duty’s very plain, to give her back pure rain
Clean skys under the sun for our children yet to come
We’re the rainbow team, gotta keep our planet green
Live in harmony, respect all living things
With gratitude we give to the world in which we live
Emerging from the earth, as heroes of the earth
 (Repeat chorus)
