Story Behind the Song
This song was written for my cat, who is totally deaf. I wanted to express my feelings of affection towards him, even though I know that he'll never hear it. I strove to use metaphors which would convey the notion that the lack or loss of one of the five senses can heighten one's appreciation of the other four.
Lyrics
LISTEN (by archiefloydbowen) Listen, you'll see. Listen, you'll see. The words are written for you dear. Although I know you will never hear, No you will never hear The words written for you dear. They're written to be read sung or spoken, And the silence broken By words written for you dear. My love for you my dear Goes far beyond the words You will never hear. No you will never hear The words written for you. Listen, you'll see. Listen, you'll see. The blind man must listen To see what he's missin'. Listen, you'll see. Listen, you'll see. Yes the blind man must listen To see what he's missin'. Listen. Listen, you'll see. Listen, you'll see. When the words to the love song are real, Love is what you'll feel. When the words to the love song reel, Love is what you'll feel. Listen, you'll see. Listen, you'll see. When the words to the love song are real, Love is what you feel. (Listen, you'll see. Listen, you'll see.) When the words to the love song reel, Love is what you'll feel. (Listen, you'll see. Listen, you'll see.) Listen, you'll see. Listen, you'll see. (I love you....)
