Story Behind the Song
I had a girlfriend who told me she loved me, and I said it back to her. We seemed to be going in different directions. I told her I still thought we could be friends, in case those directions lead back to one another. She told me one night she'd call me right back. That was the last I heard from her.
Lyrics
You didn’t call me back
When you said you’d call me back
That kind of respect
Is the reason that I’m mad
The way you show no heart
Like it’s cold, and maybe dark
How do I respond?
I wish I had a magic wand
To turn my pain into love
Like stopping rain for the sun
You change my outlook on true love
You make me wish you were someone
I only dreamed of
You’ve made it so hard to give up
This kind of feeling inside me,
No heart, no love
You could have told me that
It’s a fact, it’s love you lack
That kind of respect
Could have held my tear drops back
But the way you show no heart
I’m getting told, I lost the spark
How can I move on?
I wish I had a magic wand
To fix it quick, and hurt no one
Can’t live with it, in love, I’m done
HOOK
Who once said promises are
Meant to be broken?
Broken promises seem to be
All that I’ve been told
And no one is worthy
Of giving love, any hope
In this DIRRTY world of ours
Only sex is important
