	Story Behind the Song Another Phase was written just after my freshman year at college. I wrote it in my basement. I'm not really sure what or who it's about; I tend to write about ten different people at once and then forget who most of those people actually were at the time. I happen to think that this version is better than the one we ultimately ended up going with on Achievement Motivation. And it takes a lot for me to say something of mine is better than anything, even if the thing it's better than is also mine. ...you figure it out. This and every other track (14 in all) off the Me-CD was done all at once and in two or three takes. That should explain something. Lyrics it's slow going tonight and we're so tired and filthy like the rest of us were then in all these dreams you come to me in rage and what i make you become is always so bright look at what i did in jealous haze i'd like to break him open and play in the scattering remains (but i know i won't) and i don't think she's coming here tonight so now i'm being rational so let's get this over with look at what i did while i was waiting for you in an emptied room look at what i did wondering if this is how it's going to be look at what i did every handful of moments you're missing something different but nothing else is different and i guess that'll be all right if not for you i'd have lost it all already but i can't bring you back from where you're frozen so i will watch you evaporate into the nothing that you came from and that'll be all right at least i think so so bless me with a grin and think well of me if you will look at what i did before you wandered inside to change my perceptions look at what i did i refuse to believe that this is all there is look at what i did in the moment we left i was feeling something different but nothing else is different and the less you know the better nearly every preconception turned out wrong so naturally i'm mad for something else and i've been watching you for hours but you're not moving and i don't think it matters now anyway the last thing i noticed out of all the incredible difference: i can't look you in the face as we drive home
