	The unedited full-length version of THE VERGE is one hour long! It works off an ultra-simple 3-note descending melody line built on perfect 4ths. I call these "waves". This sequence of waves is improvised over for approximatly 6 minutes with 3 other synth tracks. I call these "tides". There are 10 tides in all, performed over the course of one hour. Well it all sounds nice & dandy, but essentially it boils down to nothing short of pure hypnotism.

	Story Behind the Song The prototype for this piece was demoed back in 1984. It was greatly inspired by Brian Eno's ambient music, and Terry Riley's earlier improvisations. I wrote it as a soothing piece of music to help lull my children into Dreamland. It worked very well much, to my relief -
