Story Behind the Song
I was at a meeting where my daughter's graduation from a church education program was being recognized. As I was sitting there, I had a strong feeling that someone was sitting next to me in the empty chair. I came away feeling like sometime in the future, I would have the opportunity to again share my life with another person.
Lyrics
WHEN WILL IT BE
by Linda McKeeth 4/28/02
I'm wondering.
I'm wondering.
When will it,
When will it
Be?
When will it be?
When will I meet you?
Tomorrow or yet today.
When will it be?
Maybe a Monday,
Or maybe next Labor Day.
Perhaps my cart at the store
Will bump into yours.
Or you'll stop and give me a hand,
When my car has left me stranded.
I don't know just how or where,
But I know you are out there.
I was sitting in this meeting,
A single among couples.
Suddenly I had this feeling,
Strong and unmistakable.
You were there beside me.
I felt the bond strongly.
I had to turn and stare.
Though I saw nothing but air,
That you were in my future,
I was peacefully sure.
I don't know just how or where,
But I know you are out there.
When will it be?
When will I meet you?
Tomorrow or yet today.
When will it be?
Maybe a Wednesday,
Or maybe next New Year's Day.
Will I know you quickly,
Or will it take awhile to see?
Will a friend introduce us,
Or as strangers will we have boldness?
I don't know just how or where,
But I know you are out there.
I'm wondering.
I'm wondering.
When will it,
When will it
Be?
