Dedicated to the memory of distant places. This song is "dreamy" and can really drive you off your seat for a few minutes. A clean electric guitar plays the main theme while the complex background evolves until the final climax. The basic sequence is estabilished by a double line of acoustic guitar harmonics (all played, no loops and tricks). More informations in the song details page. | MP3.com CD: Atman I - buy it!

Story Behind the Song
This is the third release of "Lontano" and as many of my "first phase" works, the original version was almost fully improvised. It was recorded almost 10 years ago. The partially revised second version was released 3 years ago. This is one of my favorite compositions and it took very much time to evolve to this third and (... I think) definitive version. While is the electric guitar that will draw your attention, you should pay equal attention to the complex and continuously evolving background soundscape. Unfortunately I have to warn you that the 128k mp3 version ruins in a visible (should I say hearable?) way the background textures, expecially where the "white oriented" sound becames more incisive. In the 192k version (CD) this mp3 encoding problem is much less evident (...not just to sell the CD, really ;-).
