The centerpiece of the "Empires" album, "Soulsadness" further elaborates on the hopelessness first described in "The Drowning Years." Beginning as the most traditional Doom song on the album (given the Revelation-inspired opening sequence), "Soulsadness" gradually twists and turns on another epic journey deep into the wells of sorrow, ultimately yielding to a neck-snapping rage of anger and frustration. Collectively, this is the song that the band perceives as the most successful production on this album. Doom Onward.
