	Story Behind the Song I wanted to write a song about war, so I sat down and started writting. As I looked at the clock it was later then I had thought but I had completed a song. It shows why war sucks. Lyrics A Band of Gray The days are slowly turning as dark as night There is a sense of worry across the land Tears roll down the faces of troubled minds A band of gray is hanging over me Your footsteps are slowly turning to run As the fog comes rolling in from the west As the rain comes down it covers the sounds Of the distant cries of death by the gun No time to stand still, for neither to bullets As the smoke rises up from the trees The smell of pain lingers on The numbers roll in when each soldier has gone A band of gray is hanging over me I didn’t want to experience it, but I was forced to see
