Story Behind the Song
Tom came to Martin with the idea of writing a Jimmy Reed style song. One that had alot of double meanings. Things can go off in the swamp between a man and a woman. But one good 'physical therapy session' can heal alot of wrongs. The song itself took about a year to write, re-write, re-write, and re-write... There were a couple of stumbling blocks, so we asked Dave to help out, he put together the lyrics for the bridge. Donovan once again wrote the bass and drum parts and mixed the song. The final result is what you hear.
Lyrics
V-1
You’ve been in his Cadillac, I’ve been ridin’ hers.
I was just playin’ doctor, while you was playin’ nurse.
You’ve been bad to me, I’ve been bad to you.
I’m so tired of feeling bad, let’s try something new.
V-2
Turn that Kenmore on honey, do that hi speed spin.
Get your laundry ready, I’ll put it in.
That agitation motion, can’t come on too soon.
Run me up the wall, when we start howlin’ at the moon.
Bridge
Sparks have started flying, all around the room.
Fuses start ta blowin, when we’re howlin’ at the moon.
V-3
Everybody’s better now, it’s not hard to tell.
That agitatin’ motion, makes everybody well.
Bad times ever come again, we know what to do.
Get down on all fours and howl at the moon.
Bridge
Sparks start ta flying, all around the room.
Fuses start ta blowin, when we’re howlin’ at the moon.
