	Story Behind the Song I spent the Gulf War with two TV sets on different news servers throughout the altercation. It seems as though the same battle is being fought. Though, I personally was horrified and angered by September 11th's dispicable attack, I still feel that we might be able to work things out through negotiations. There is no acceptable loss where innocent blood is shed. I wrote the tune very quickly in front of the TV's. This is the second version re-recorded about two years later. Lyrics WAR so they told us how to grow and they told us how to learn as they packed us off to school they watched us from their perches never talked of compromise never spoke of suicide never told of poverty religion was the fantasy GOD was great GOD was good but we didn't pray to HIM in school the laws were made to stifle HIM it's getting very near the end WAR. so they forced us with their politic and bored us with their rhetoric enlisted us as destitute and treated us as prostitutes told us lies disguised as truth "let's go to war for common good." good, clean blood from slaughtered lambs to fortify the businessman time will come-time will go nothing changed the money flows was there ever a promised land? it's getting very near the end. WAR. near the end... fresh tears upon the lion's cheek can we expose the words they speak? talk of all their innocence but actions proove their guiltiness told us all to grow told us all to learn they sent us off to school as they watched us from their purchasenever talked of suicide never spoke of genocide unexposed the poverty religion was a fantasy GOD was Good-GOD was great but we haven't prayed to HIM as of latethe laws were made to stifle HIM, stifle HIM in the end...
