    Story Behind the Song
Inspiration came from people always looking for love and what they end up with is often a funny story. The collaboration of a couple weeks between Mark and Boyd resulted in a hilarious prospective of "mail order brides!"

    Lyrics
    Mail Order Bride
    B. Townsend/ M. Eddie/ C. Volhl

I never had much luck with women
One date seemed to be the limit
They always seemed to take me for a ride.
I was lookin through this magazine
and a strange ad jumped right out at me
So, I sent for a mail order bride.

For 6 weeks I waited anxiously
    for my true love’s delivery.
Finally, I heard that knock on the door.
With long dark hair and deep blue eyes
and other things I can’t describe
made my heart sink right to the floor.

    Chorus:
I got a male mail order bride
    6 foot 2 about 355.
Quit Sumo school and then went bust
Took a job with “Brides R Us”
as a male mail order bride.

And even though I felt ashamed
I took him to the football game
and actually we had a real good time.
I must admit he’s tons of fun
wears his hair in a cumber bun
and folks always seem to let us cut in line.

    Chorus:

Boy, I really picked myself a winner.
He mows the lawn, cleans the house and cooks dinner!

    Even though we got along
we both knew that it was wrong
You can’t say that we didn’t try.
And we might have made that big commitment
If he’d only had the right equipment
and I shed a tear as we waved goodbye.

    Chorus:
