Story Behind the Song
In 1961, Bottco signed their first rock-n-roll act. The SURF BOYS were a surf rock band from land-locked southern Illinois. Their only record, "Surf Bored", was a fine example of the surf music genre, although ironically, none of the Surf Boys had ever even seen the ocean, let alone surfed in it.
Lyrics
(all) Surf Board, Surf Board, Surf Board, Surf Board, Surf Board Surf Board, Surf Board
Well, I got a Board, a surf board, yeah I got a board, a surf board, and when i wax it down i really get my kicks, yeah i'm a surfin' daddy i really dig those chicks
Well, I caught a wave, a big wave, yeah i caught a wave, a big wave, and i can hang 7, 8, or 9 or 10, and when i hit a wipe out i get back on my board again
Waxin' down my woody, for a night of fun, my little surfer girl, is waiting at the run/ It feels so good to hold her in my arms- who needs surfin'!?
Well i got a woody, a big woody, yeah i got a woody, a big woody, i always ride my woody down to shore, And then i surf and i surf and i surf and i surf some more...til i get
(all) Surf bored, surf bored, surf bored, (i need a new hobby!), surf bored, surf bored, surf bored, surf bored (i don't know what to do anymore!!)
