	Story Behind the Song Well, I like to play slide guitar and the blues, people who don't vote have a good reason for not voting: None of the people on the ballot are worthy of their vote. Hence a song about it: Lets put a box in to let people vote for None of the Above Lyrics None of the Above From Maine to California, when it is voting day They say that it’s a mystery why so many folks stay away And if all the people’s wishes were tallied up by the GOV’ment The undisputed winner would be: I’m not talking about no sister living up in the sky But to say a CANDIDATE won the race is just a big lie It’s the people that aren’t voting that feel pushed around and shoved Its time they recognize who really won (the race, its): The say that in this country: “we all have an equal voice” But if you check your ballot, well there really ain’t much choice For its money puts them in power, yeah its money before love Its time they put a box in that lets you vote for: If you want to see those bigshots start shaking in their shoes We’re going to have to show them that most people live the blues Your ballot may not have a box for none of the above But you can always write in: Right in that blank box at the bottom None of the above None of the above There’d be no one in the White House, but: None of the above None of the above None of the above They’d post it in the papers who really won: It’d say None of the above None of the above None of the above Let’s make them put a box in that lets you vote for: None of the above. After all, if that’s what the majority wants Then that’s we ought to be able to vote for. And we should be able to get such a vote counted in a True democracy.
