	Story Behind the Song Dave and TCWhite had this jam tune. They had written it in High School. When I joined the band, we played it as the break tune. After a while, I got an inspiration. In one night, I wrote a set of lyrics. called the "Long Dixie Ride." I played in every bar band from that point on. When the Gospel album was in development, I rewrote the lyrics to the new set. I had played it so long, that I laid it down in one afternoon.
