Story Behind the Song
After watching the film "Requiem For A Dream" by Darren Aronofsky, I went to bed feeling nauseous. I woke up the next morning and wrote this song about my journey through his dark world. A movie everyone should see...but only once.
Lyrics
pick up the phone is ringing
put it to your ear
hear what you’ve won
a grand appearance
take out the red dress
zip it up slowly, slowly
worn when they were alive
you weren’t so lonely
it’s what keeps me going, going
it’s what keeps me going
I’ve no one to care for
no one to care for
take the tv out for a walk
down the street
make it earn it’s keep
turn the powder into wine
stick it in your wound
your eyes inflate and you feel fine
it’s what keeps me going, going
it’s what keeps me going
I’ve no one to care for
no one to care for
be excited
don’t wait
be excited
before you break
it’s what keeps me going, going
it’s what keeps me going
I’ve no one to care for
no one to care for
