Story Behind the Song
Another G4 produced song, this was written in the lounge of my floor in my dorm building. It's pretty much a straight up rock song, but put in the indy/lo-fi category because, hey, Powerbook G4, man! The lyrics in this song don't really need explanation. It's pretty straightforward. It was motivated by just me walking around on my campus or in the city or wherever and being flooded with conflict when I when I approached attractive girls. Feeling inferior to them, and finding like faux-resolution to that little inner-quandry in hating them. It's one of those things that you just gotta realize by being honest with yourself, and letting just pass out of you.
Lyrics
Passing the pretty girls on 14th Street
J. Crew tops and Diesel Jeans
Probably looking down on me
A homely kid without the means
Hey, it's okay, you know, they're below me
Insecure, with no sensitivity
One's probably got an STD
The scum and shit below my feet
Now is the time
Where I decide
I'm an asshole
Making no sense
Truth ain't dispensed
Just my flimsy ego
Now is the time
where i decide
Oh yeah....
That I'll Walk on, walk...
Walk on, walk on, walk
'til I'm untangled
Walk on, walk on, walk...
Walk on, walk on, walk
till I'm untangled
Malaise and ennui, can't see, all's beyond me
Spoutin out nothin' but self-pity
I'll see the winter in the spring
and hack and cough while others sing
Going online, killing time, a drug to feel fine
But smileys and text don't get me high
Kinda like some fucked goodbye
where human contact seems to die
Now I decide
Yeah, I decide
I'm a dung beetle
In love with
rollin' my shit
instead of other people
Now is the time
Where I decide
Oh yeah
That I'll walk on, walk...
Walk on, walk on, walk
'til I'm untangled
Walk on, walk...
Walk on, walk on, walk
til I'm untangled
I'm gonna walk...
Walk on walk....
I'll walk...
