	Story Behind the Song I used to live in a house in North Vancouver with a punk rock band in late 1999. I designed a low-budget web page for the band, so they called me Webmistress Jen. This eventually got shortened to Mistress Jen. I was just starting to play my music publicly, and I thought that Mistress Jen would make a great stage name because it"s more exciting than just Jen, and it sounded like I was a dominatrix, which I thought was funny. My parents didn"t think it was funny at all. I was inspired to write a song called Mistress Jen about me being a dominatrix, just as a joke. I came up with this really cool bass line that sounded great with my Yamaha organ sound. As I played the song more and more, I came up with this long instrumental section in the middle where I play most of the organ riffs I know. When Peter mixed it, he used the spring reverb to create this awesome psychedelic feel to that section.
