	Story Behind the Song Written by Scott to explain to his family back in Tennessee why he would never return "home." He ultimately returned to Tennessee, of course, thus somewhat negating the message of the song. In context, however, it lives. Still sung upon occasion today, Alaska Song's lyrics have changed "Knoxville" to "Nashville" and "this place Alaska's got inside of me" to "this place Alaska lives inside of me." Go figure.
