Story Behind the Song
It started when I saw a gold wedding band on a friends nightstand, which inspired the first line and the whole theme of infidelity. Then this character of the lonesome trollop started to emerged; A woman who wakes up to the fact that she's been used and begins to find strength within herself. It's one of my favorite songs to sing because it's both hopeful and sorrowful.
