Story Behind the Song
This piece is not a good example of the score I wrote for this play, but it is my favorite cue, so it's what I like to present. The violin presents the main theme ("Vivan's theme,") as set against piano and tabla accompaniment. The vibraphone melody in the "B'" section, is a refrence to the disease that Vivan is suffering from. The idea for me was to try to bring the timeline, and enviornment of Vivians suffering into a musical context by weaving together these themes and rhythms.
