Hey, if those who believe you only have one life to live are right... then you best not waste it till it's gone... remember, life don' play!
Credits: music and lyrics by Andrew G. Bolton

    Story Behind the Song
I notice that as my musical quest goes on, the more I find myself dipping into my Jamaican roots. Even though this song was essentially written on computer (in entirety), I recall many reggae devices within it, albeit portrayed in a more European flavor... such is the nature of World Fusion).

This song is about me in 2002... the roughest year of my life (thus far). Read the lyrics, listen to the tune, and tell me what you think.

    Lyrics
    Life Don't Play

    (Chorus:)

    Life don't play
    Life don't play
Don't waste it till you dead and gone
    Life don't Play
    Life don't PLAY...

Every day I try to live my life
The way that I was meant to live
And though I struggle I don't fuss or fight
Jus' wait for better days to give
I still remember what my Grandma say
Be 'appy for the rainy day
While it's true you can't go out an' play
    Imagination takes you away!

    (Chorus)

I'm at the lowest point a man can go
I've loved and lost my only bride
I gotta learn to build respect and trust
And one day she'll be at my side
Every mickle make a muckle they say,
    "Every little bit adds up."
And when they throw you 'pon your ass one day
You best jus' fi STAND BACK UP!

    (Chorus)

    (Bridge:)

Yes it's true I'm jus' a simple man
Trying just to make my way (In the world!)
I still believe there is a master plan,
And I'm waiting for my day (To be heard!)

    (lead guitar)

    (repeat Bridge)

    (Chorus)

It's for the children why I still press on
Or one day they'll be in my shoes
I don't regret the stupid things I done
But I'll be careful what I choose
I see dem sittin' by de street all day
Watchin' as their lives go by
Yes I know that I'll be old some day
But i won't sit an' wonder why!
I won't sit an' wonder why!
All the things I should have done!!!

(Chorus till end approx. 3 and a half times)
