Story Behind the Song
Lyrics
early on in the month of march, everything looked brighter/the sun came out, i left behind my coat for something lighter/ but then the snow fell down again, i laughed i knew it was a joke/ i'll just close my eyes and rise with the chimney smoke
i'm lookin' for a month of weather i can trust/ i guess i'll wait for april, maybe may; wildflowers along the way
you ever feel like you've been loved/ in all the wrong seasons, for all the wrong reasons/ now you want something more: you want someone to adore/ but march comes and you're still alone, flowers you plant turn away from the sun/ what do you do? what do you do?
you got to learn to cry but not to crack/ when beauty doesn't love you back/ throw away the dying lilacs
risky, your smile to a stranger/ what is your intent?/ wading through vodka, sweat and danger, we all seem to be hell-bent/ inside this bar you'd never know it's spring, there's not a single window/ to shed light on the flowers and weeds we grow.
i'm looking for a month of weather i can trust . . .
you got to learn to cry but not to crack . . .
