Story Behind the Song
The title track of Linda Nunez's latest release, Havana, is the homeland of Linda's father. This song was inspired by a conversation that Linda had with her father after the Pope visited the tiny Island Nation.
Havana is beautiful written and has a funky, Latin feel to it! Havana is a guaranteed crowd pleaser!
Lyrics
He came and laid his hands on wounded hearts Bringing messages of love, wiping clean the film that dulls the light, caressing faces stained with pain.
But like all good things they must come and go And we must learn to walk alone...
The skies over Havana, oh they cry, they cry tonight, the skies over Havana, They cry out, they cry out, they cry out over paradise.
In cities rich with freedom mercy dies. The merciless are free to roam, an island tucked away from peering eyes, held captive by one of its own...
The skies over Havana, oh they cry, they cry tonight, the skies over Havana, They cry out, they cry out, they cry out
Abre los cielos deja el oceano volar, no es muy tarde para rectificar
The skies over Havana, oh they cry, they cry tonight, the skies over Havana, They cry out, they cry out, they cry out
