2000-06-26: Nitrogen fuelled pop thing that'll haunt your head badly if you listen to it more than once. If there ever were a genre called "Electric Pop", this would be in that genre. Funky drums, a bouncing bass riff and hilariously pop:ish melodies. "You want ice with that, sir?" |

Story Behind the Song
Working hard in my studio doesn't always lead towards the goal I'm aiming at; sometimes I get distracted in a most positive way, sometimes I have a rather turbulent weekend (well, my life *is* that way, you know :) and sometimes things blast along a forest road in the middle of a beautiful summer night in 182 km/h, sometimes the warm proximity at night is turned upside down at breakfast and after a short while snaps back into place to shake me all up inside and that's when I just *have* to write something completely different. Rocket Girl is about all those things above. In the middle passage of the song, where things get a bit heavier and funkier, close your eyes and picture a Rocket Girl thundering across the surface of the planet, the wind tossing her coppery fuzz like an afterburner flame and her face is beaming from her brilliant smile. I haven't been able to get this rocket fuel out of my head for several days, so *please* tell me if you like it or not (if you dont, I'll know for certain that I've gone completely mad)!
This song would never have been born to life unless The Introvert (look him up here on mp3.com!) and Tanya had encouraged me to do something with the idea that I had come up with one day...
