Story Behind the Song
I started writing this song when I was about 17 years old. The words just came to mind as I was strumming a chord arrangement that my boyfriend had shown me. I never finished it until I moved to Hawaii, I asked my drummer to make the sound of waves with his symbols, and wanted the Peddle Steel to add a bit of Hawaiian flavor to it.
Lyrics
Sending waves to change the sand, the moon will wax and wane.
Ever the same it will remain, the moon will wax and wane, wax and wane.
Loneliness is a part of me, but not a part of being.
Only when my thoughts are free, do they wander back with yearning.
Sending waves to change the sand the moon will wax and wane.
Ever the same it will remain, the moon will wax and wane, wax and wane.
Wander through these dreams of mine, and you'll find my love returning.
Back to me across the sea, with his love for me still buring.
