    Lyrics
Richest of the Rich by Ian Gifford - copyright 2002

Frankie played his numbers, 3 times every week
Spent a half a days wages against the odds
scratched away his lunch time to try and be one in a million
In the evening he put all of his faith in God
Frankie loved his job, his truck and The chihuahua he called "twitch"
And he knew one day he'd be the richest of the rich

Frankie loved his sister, a waitress in Montreal
He dreamed of goin' there to buy her a brand new car
Frankie loved his brother, a mechanic in his own home town
Who couldn't hold a job cause he never could leave the bar
Frankie loved his momma, who his daddy always called a bitch
And knew he'd save her when he was the richest of the rich

Frankie never had his own house
and He never did take a wife
He spent time and money on a big ol' dream
That he could start a brand new life
The bingo caller was his messiah
The card dealer his only friend
He'd stare into the sky and pray to god
That his losin' soon would end

Frankie started conversations with "You know what I would do?..."
Then he lived out his every day in the same old way
He'd look through a dozen catalogues at all the luxuries he'd choose
In hope that the winning numbers might be drawn today
Till one day he botched a bank job with the help of a man called "Snitch"
And lost his chance to be the richest of the Rich
