Welcome to my page of contemporary rock music. This rock track pretty much sums up how I want to sound, and reflects how I feel about the current state of affairs. Written for all those out there on their own 'frontline'. This song is recorded in full on 'Manchester Sound', featuring the mancunian lilt made famous by Shaun R., Ian B., and Liam G. Check the closing riff, if you doubt me! |

Story Behind the Song
The song started out with the riff that now ends up closing the song: we liked it so much, we soon found a whole song bubbling up out of it. This is a pretty good version, based largely on the first take- we're working on slightly longer, more proggy version....because we can! It also works pretty well as an instrumental sound track too!
Lyrics
I spend my time, behind the lines
I'm trying to hold the system at bay,
I don't mean to sound funny, this is not about money
It's all about a price I won't pay
We're too far along the way
The broken path leading to decay
I'm confined; I know how it feels to be sidelined
Still I'm trying every day, to find a new way, hey, hey
A daily bind with trouble in mind
Spent chasing targets that get moved every day
I don't mean to sound embittered but my life just seems littered with a paperchase of forms to obey
So how long can this last? The road we're on goes nowhere fast -
I'm confined; I know how it feels to be sidelined
Still I'm trying every day, to find a new way, hey, hey
And every day, it gets harder, the road we're on grows longer,
And now I know, you've got me fighting, on your frontline...
