	Story Behind the Song One day, Ryan and Joe were screwing around on their instruments. Suddenly, Ryan pulled out a chord progression he had been playing with while at college. The two ran through it once and then recorded it to 8-track. Joe took the 8-track to San Diego and wrote some lyrics for his girlfriend, Susan Rodgers, to sing. She did a few takes and recorded the lyrics. Joe then visited Iowa and gave the song to Ryan. While there, they added a new guitar solo (actually a digitally distorted acoustic guitar track), handclaps, and Ryan's vocals to the mix. They mixed it on Ryan's digital tracking program and, well, here it is. Lyrics i saw you walking down the street, i said hello, but i don't think that you noticed me at all... you are a chapter in this work-in-progress book that i'm writing in my spare time well, you kno-o-o-ow... i want to meet you... he said she said that i said nothing of the sort! no one knows i want to be within your arms... i'll read a novel with my record player on and daydream about this person that i kno-o-o-ow... i want to see you... (bridge) would it be a movie scene with a dramatic kiss and an understanding gaze into your eyes? when i'm rolling half-asleep out of my comfy bed and i look out through the window at the sky...
