	Story Behind the Song SOMEWHERE OUT OF HER MIND was written in room #2 of the Bluebird Motel in Kenosha, WI in Dec. 1994. It took about an hour or so to finish the lyrics, another couple hours to flesh out the arrangement. The initial inspiration came to me in my car on my way back to the motel from Racine. I started writing it down as soon as I got back to my room. I was performing with a band at a club called "Bubba's" just down the road. It was inspired by a lovely young redhead named Kelly. My band RIO GRANDE recorded the song at the Noise Chamber in Sept. 1995. We played it live quite a bit and got a good response. It was also played on the radio in a few small towns. I am hoping to get this one recorded by a Nashville artist. I am told it is a "hit." And I believe it is!
