	Story Behind the Song This is one of my older songs, one of the first songs I wrote that I committed to memory forever. I wrote this song about a friend in high school. I always felt he was pretending to be something else, something more acceptable. His actions spoke louder than words. I picked up on all of it, at least I thought. I was probably completely wrong about him. I recorded a rough demo of this song in 1998 and it was one of the songs I submitted to Brett Sanderson on a crappy demo tape, it was this song that he really liked and what made him decide to call me and start working with me. This song turned out to mean so many things to me. It is a constant reminder of my days with Brett and Garenne, the house party gigs we would do, the decadence. It was also after singing this song at a house party at the Humboldt house when **** said for the first time he loved me. It's his song now. The quality of sound is slightly affected. The only copy I had of this version came from a tape recording and was converted to MP3 via Sound Forge, my savior.
