Story Behind the Song
Well, "Salty Vacation" was so fun, I wanted to do another islandy song! No really, this one was alot of fun doing. I put the guitar on first, and then the rest. It's about just the whole cycle of things man. Ya know, you can have arguments with your family sometimes, but they've always got your best interests at heart in the end. It was just reminicing. Also, I work at a country radio station, and country's so funny man. They're not afraid to get sentimental ya know. And that's cool, if done right. I hope I did this one o.k! I hope it don't make you want to puke by the end of it!! No seriously, dig it.
Lyrics
My Mom and Dad would always let the 8 track play
The money got tough sometimes, they would find a way
Me and my good friends we all had worlds of our own
But I always knew there was a place I could call home
When It gets tough, you can just call home
When it gets rough, you can just call home,
When it gets tough, you can just call home,
and they'll be there
I must've seen all those movies a hundred times
I still sometimes go there in the corners of my mind
I still remember her outside in that sun dress
I love her so much and I won't take nothin' less
repeat chorus/bridge
Now me and my young wife, we let the cd play
we hope to have young children of our own some day
You can just call home
