Story Behind the Song
I wrote some notes while I was waiting at a busstation in Prague in June 2001. Me and my former girlfriend were having trouble and the situation really worried me. I finished the song a year and a half later.
Lyrics
One Beer Though Your Waiting
CHORUS:
Just one beer, although you’re waiting for me dear
I’ve got so much time to spend before the way’ll be clear
Stuck here at the station, lost in a sea of time
One more beer; I know you’re waiting for me dear
1.
You tell me that you love me, but that your door is closed
Why do you say YOUR door? It was OUR door, I supposed . . .
I don’t see the reason, though I wish I’d understand
I’ve travelled 1000 miles dear, for you to this far land
2.
You’re always hanging out with some guy I don’t know well
Well I don’t like him one bit, but it sure is hard to tell
Is there reason to be jealous? I thought our love was real
‘Got too much pride to fear him, though fear is all I feel
3.
My beer’s almost finished and soon I’ll have to go
Now you say that you’ll be waiting there, when I’ll be coming home
Just tell me, little darling, what is it that you want?
Or I’ll just keep on waiting with the next beer in my hand . . .
CHORUS
Another beer . . . and I’ll just keep you waiting for me dear!
