Story Behind the Song
This song is about people who seclude themselves into darkness. People who don't want to be seen as light. It's about how I reached out to someone like that, but they ended up sucking me into that hole with them. I was a failed sun, and couldn't light up their life. I wrote the guitar melody quickly, and the lyrics as well. Then hated the lyrics, killed 'em, and revised. The new ones are focused more on my emotions, rather than metaphors.
Lyrics
I scribble out words to make some sense, But they're all rambling on,
So I stare off silent entranced, Wondering where we've gone,
Like crashing over rapids, it's all just a blur,
All I can remember of all these thoughts is where we were,
But you are! So far! Away! I can't see you at all!
And I am! A failed sun! I can't light you up anymore!
I wade through my crumpled pages, and take a look outside,
Everything has all been changed and I don't know why,
And I scratch it ferociously in the wall, as I think that
Even if I threw it all away, I'd do anything to get it back,
But you are! So far! Away! I can't see you at all!
And I am! A failed sun! I can't light you up anymore!
