Story Behind the Song
I wrote this song as the light was beginning to shine after ending a relationship. I kept hearing layered harmony and decided to do the song a cappella. We originally tried to record it outside with Rob Sylvain of Gigaphone Records, who specializes in unique recording locations - he also recorded most of the album. We had a great time, in a beautiful tall grass, wild flower yard outide the studio. Bees were buzzing and the sun was shining on a hot June afternoon, but the trucks were also buzzing by often enough that the final take had to be done indoors. The image will always remain with me though. The harmony vocals are with the best pipes in town... Haak, John and Andrea Re (sister of soul)...
Lyrics
Sun is shining out my window
Waters beading on my skin
Your face is fading slowly
Happiness is creeping in
Want to push it back, Want to push it back
And feel sorry
Want to push it back, Want to push it back
And feel sorry for loosing you
Want to push it back, Want to push it back
And feel sorry
Want to push it back, Want to push it back
And feel sorry for loosing myself
Happiness is creeping in
Happiness is under my skin
There are nights when Iā¦feel so lonely
I think my heart might break in two
Then I remember about my new life
Its not so bad, loosing you
Happiness is creeping in
Happiness is under my skin
Happiness...
