Story Behind the Song
Let's face it. Rock n' Roll is in a sad state
right now. This song was written in the Spring of 1999, during the reign of carbon-copy boy bands. This in mind, a frustrated Aaron Winter conceptualized the basis of this song.
Lyrics
Have you heard,
have you heard the things I keep inside?
Rock and Roll has died,
and so have you.
Have you seen,
have you seen all the things I've seen?
It's no mystery.
and so it goes...
(bridge)
Plasterscene....believing
it's all so intriguing
everything you've wanted is
gone, gone, gone.
(chorous)
No MTV, no Tommy Lee, no more Pennywise
cause Rock and roll has died.
Here I stand,
here I stand, my soul is in a box.
Skeletons an such, are waiting there for me.
Afterward,
afterward, beginnings don't mean much.
We all know it's true,
but we don't believe.
(bridge, chorous, repeat first verse.)
